Publication ethics

Authors must have the right to submit the work, must have the permission of all co-authors, and must declare conflicts of interest, funding and data availability on the submission form. These declarations are stored with the manuscript.

Editors and reviewers must declare conflicts and recuse themselves. The platform blocks the obvious cases (own manuscripts) automatically; other conflicts rely on honest declaration.
